Let's see...
Overnight to Yamanashi: It was fun. I took lots of pictures, and will be posting them with captions when I have them all ready. ( I'm trying to caption them all in Japanese and English... ) It's very hard to get homesick when the plants and mountains all look very much like the ones back home.
I will post pictures of the ones back home, once I've got some, if you don't believe me.
The one thing that wasn't the same? Home lacks monkeys. (Saw one in the wild, but was unable to get a good picture.) But, I'm pretty sure that they'd naturalize quite happily back home...
Between now and then: Class, class, and more class. A few brief breaks, generally spent either passed out or trying to figure out exactly what all I need to buy to do things like fix my own meals... I think the last thing left is a saucepan, though, so...
I found the Mandarake. I also discovered that the One Piece Styling figure series gets carried in 7-11s in Japan...so I own a full set of the normal versions, and am quite happily stocked up on my anime goods. ( Though I think I do want the alternate version of Robin, since I sort of want to cosplay as her with that version of the outfit at a con... )
I am thinking of running off to Chiba when I get a bit of a break, to see if I can hit the Daiso there -- it's apparently their biggest location in the world. I'm still trying to complete my set of Happy Balloon in orange; I do have all of it, just not all matching in color. ( Unless there's a travel spoon that I don't know yet about, anyway, I've got one of each piece in some color or other, anyway. ) At this point, it seems the majority of what I take home will actually be kitchen- and dish-ware.
I also own two yukata now. ( Pictures pending. GIMP and I are not friends... ) Both are in blue, and one is much more traditional than the other which came as part of a full set. The geta that I got with the less traditional one are intended, apparently, for somebody with thinner feet than myself. I may eventually figure out how to adjust their fit, but in the meantime I'm just going to try to find a pair of men's geta with indigo straps...

Quick Summary, end
Okay, the rest of the summary...
Fri: Didn't get to post, busy handling email & trying to obtain full list of local Freespot wifi locals. ( IE it turned out loathes G!maps, but there's one I didn't know of before right beside the Book Off. )
Sat.: Got keitai, plus found the groceries.
Sun.: Rained. Gave up and went to Harajuku & the Daiso again. Aside from a pot, I'm set.
Mon.: Today...
1. My mikan are already moldy, dammit...I may not be able to have any, they come in too large a supply -- esp. if they spoil this fast. My apple's still good and is part of tomorrow's breakfast.
2. Got internets today!
3. The two classmates sitting beside me don't really wanna be here. They kept chattering.
4. Overight tomorrow. Will post, with pictures if possible, when I make it back.

Week so Far in Summary...
So...
Good news: I got to Japan safely.
Bad news: Nevermind that I asked ahead about it, I have until Saturday (at best) until I get WiFi in my dorm room. ("1 week to 10 days, July 5th," was what I was told.)
Bright side? Was not supposed to have a fridge. Do.
Anyway, until then, I can use the school`s computer lab, which has Japanese keyboards complete with mystifying placement of punctuation (for those wondering), head to a manga kissa (and pay ~230 yen for 30min), or find one of the three cafes in my ku which has free WiFi.
Still working on that last one.
Anyway. This is my lunch time, so I am going to be brief.
Sat. -- Got here. Unpacked. Noticed a Book Off. Slept.
Sun. -- Finished unpacking. Found a 100Y Store, hit the Book Off and got OP: Pirates of the Grand Line. (Think "extended Q&A.")
Mon. -- Orientation, kinda. Testing. Need to review massive amounts of vocab.
Tues. -- スーパー
Wed.-- ダイソは大好き。 (I adore Daiso.)
Thurs.-- Today! Hope to find one of those kissaten after classes today...

T-less-than-12-hours...
...and then I go to Japan.
I am Mimosa, and I'm doing a short stint in Tokyo at a language school. I hope to manage to blog my experience -- and may, if this works out, keep blogging once back.
Um...actually, not much to say, 'cept...
I ought to go back to packing.
